Hello

We are using CDC Class driver for our NXP RT MCU.

Now we would like to use our NXP-Assigned PID with the driver provided by NXP with the SDK. This is the fsl_ucwxp.inf file with the cdc.cat file.

First question: Is this driver certified by Microsoft?

To use this driver with our own PID, and to give a proper name in the device manager, we need to edit the .inf file. This will void the certification of the driver.
To alllow driver installation at customers without security warning, we need to re-certify the driver by Microsoft. To be able to do this, NXP will need to confirm to Microsoft that we are allowed to do this.

Is this allowed by NXP and has it been done before?

Thanks and regards,
Daniel

Hi @jingpan

Interestingly in the link that you show it points out that the NXP VID/PID program can't be used for i.MX RT parts - it is only valid for Cortex M LPC and Kinetis based products and Cortex-A based i.MX application processors.

Is that really the case?

Mark

Hi @mjbcswitzerland ,

No, it can used on i.mxRT. The last update of this post is 07-15-2016. RT wasn't announced at that time.

Jing
