Is tying low the CD_B and WP necessary for eMMC?

Hi,

I'm interfacing an eMMC chip to the i.MXRT1062 controller using USDHC2 peripheral. While I was going through the reference manual(IMXRT1060RM) I came across the below table, which suggests tying low the CD_B and WP pins in case of embedded memory.

My question is can we not assign any pins to these signals(as we have exhausted the pins on the controller) and still move ahead with it and use the eMMC chip.

Are there any config registers that we can use to override these signals?

Sumant

Hi Sumant Khalate

Please follow the reference manual recommended operation, if you don't want to use it, tie the pin low, CD_B pin low status is used to indicate a card attached.

Wish it helps you!
Have a great day,
Kerry
