Hi,

We want to boot from external qspi flash(connected to flexspi1).

Internal flash we planing to use data storage purpose.

Please provide procedure for boot from qspi flash and evk boot switch position.

If we boot from external qspi flash we can use imxrt1060 sdk without any modification ?

Regards,

Hi  Vasudhevan G

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products and
for the opportunity to serve you.
Inside of i.MX RT1064, it contains a QSPI flash to boot up, so the i.MX RT1064 doesn't support to boot up from other QSPI chips.
In another word, I'm afraid your purpose is impossible to make it.
Hope this is clear.

Have a great day,
TIC

Hi  Vasudhevan G

Thanks for your reply.
1) what is the use of these pins?
-- It's used to select the boot mode and boot-up device, as the below shows.

2) What is the use of fuse settings?
-- As same as the boot pins, the fuse setting is used to select the boot mode and boot-up device.

Have a great day,

Hi  Vasudhevan G

Thanks for your reply.
1) Does it mean we can use a boot up the device via serial nor and sd card?
-- Yes.
2) As you said IMX RT 1064 boot from internal flash then why these pins and boot up mode selection option available?
-- Let me make it clear, the i.MX RT1064 can't boot up from external QSPI flash, however, it doesn't affect that configure it to boot up from the SD card or other devices.
Hope this is clear.

Have a great day,
TIC
