HI,

I have a problem about the RT1064 booting from RAW NAND flash on SEMC. Our project plans to boot from RAW NAND then load the firmware from it to a HyperRAM on FlexSPI bus, is it feasible without a secondary bootloader but only using bootROM? I checked the 1064RM, found that no boot device config option for RAW NAND flash, but in 1060RM it's listed in the boot device table.

Thanks,

Alan

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
1) What do you mean "internal Flash", the 4M internal flash in 1064?
-- Yes.
2) But the 1064 eval board can boot from external QSPI flash, can't it?
-- No, it can't boot from the external QSPI flash.
Hope this is clear.
Have a great day,
TIC

Thanks Jeremy, then what should I do if we want to boot from external RAW NAND or external QSPI NOR flash? Is the second bootloader the only way? Could you provide some application document for that?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I think you need to utilize a customize secondary bootloader to do it.

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products and for the opportunity to serve you.
Sorry for the reply late due to the Chinese new year.
1) Is it feasible without a secondary bootloader but only using boot ROM?
-- For the i.MX RT1064, it can't boot up from any external memory chip instead of the internal Flash actually.
Hope this is clear.
Have a great day,
TIC
