IAR seems to have 1070 support (1170 also)

/update

After you have fixed the typo (1070 to 1170).

What kind of support do you need?

Datasheet and Reference manual is released. The SDK should follow soon. The device is also supported by different compilers

It is possible that IAR has advanced information about a future product but nothing comes up with a search for an i.MX RT 1070, neither on the NXP site nor on search machines.

If it is the pipe-line I expect it is an i.MX RT 1170 without the Cortex-M4. Or an i.MX RT 1060 with dual-1G Ethernet.

Mark

Hey mark,

for sure they have, what me surprises is, that they publishing this internals bevor NXP does.

The i.MX RT 1170 without the Cortex-M4 is called iMXRT1172 and iMXRT1171. Check table 1 in the Datasheet which was publicly released last month.

If you check the 1070 headerfile which comes with IAR it does not look like Gigabit Ethernet is supported.

Thank you Mark! We have been in touch in the past while I was using your Modbus Library. Glad to know that you are supporting imX RT1170.

Cheers,

Farid

Hey fmabrouk,

You could start the development with the 1060 and port it to the 1170 when you receive it. As long as you don’t like to use one of the new peripherals (Gigabit Ethernet?) in your bootloader it should be very straight forward.

We started our application also with the 1060 and switched to the 1170 after receiving it.

Could you please advise about where I can find the bootloader for RT1060.

Thanks!

Mark gave you some links to utasker. As an alternative you could take a look at the bootloader from the SDK.

You can download the SDK for the 1060 (and the 1170 after it is released) from https://mcuxpresso.nxp.com

Don’t forget to add at least MCU Boot to the SDK Package, or take just the complete package. After extracting it, check the folder: boards\evkmimxrt1060\bootloader_examples

Hello Fmabrouk,

Technical documentation and the MCUXpresso SDK for the i.MXRT1170 will be available as soon as this family is launched, which should happen soon. You can contact your NXP Distributor for more details.

My apologies for the inconvenience!

Gustavo

Hi Farid

Do you already have this part (or its EVK?)

I have a complete turn-key secure boot loader / OTA concept for the i.MX RT 10XX parts (including Modbus loading): https://www.utasker.com/iMX/developers.html (list of documents and video below too)

but I haven't ported it to the i.MX RT 1170 yet - mainly because I don't actually receive the HW until the 8th February 2021. Only limited customers and partners actually have the HW (the have had then for about 11 months or so).

Regards

Mark
