Can any NXP representative tell me when they will add Peripheral Tools to the SDK?. Are essential for me to be able to make new developments. Without the Peripheral Tools it is very difficult to configure DMA, interrupts, SPI, etc ...

Just today, I received the 10 x RT1020 LQFP100 that I ordered from Digikey, very fast. I am ready to design my PCB for this powerful microcontroller, something easy with QSPI, SDIO, some leds for testing purposes and some additional chips and connectors for my LED screen application.

I hope that NXP will soon release a new version of the SDK with the Peripheral Tools for MCUXpresso, for me it is essential. Also I wait for the LQFP144, need it for some designs.

Time to migrate all my designs from Kinetis to RT1020.

  I'm thinking of using the RT1020 instead of the STM32H7 in applications that do not need a high-performance ADC converter. But I do not understand why NXP did not made available any project examplos for the MIMXRT1020-EVK to be loaded directly into the external QSPI Flash. All the examples are for download and debug into the internal SRAM.

Hi Ari,

Most of the demo applications and driver examples that are included in the SDK for EVK-MIMXRT1020 have build configurations that target the QSPI. Are you using MCUXpresso IDE? You can import examples such as hello_world from the demo applications in the SDK which are targeted for the QSPI on the EVK.

It seems that the RT1020 chip is now available to order (LQFP100 500Mhz), but only on Digikey, I ordered 10 units to test it and develop my new PCB, they will deliver them to me today by UPS. There are no free samples available on the NXP website.

I hope that it will soon be available also in Mouser (they announce it by the end of July), it is my preferred supplier for this type of product and, of course, the Chinese suppliers.

As for the SDK, it would be desirable, the sooner it support the Peripheral Tools, for me it is essential to configure the periphery, interrupts, DMA, etc ...
