Want to use LPSPI1, but is connected to secondary flash.

Hi,
We are using the MIMXRT1170-EVB board.
We want to use the LPSPI1 interface that is connected to the Arduino Headers.
But we found out that this is also connected to U27, which is a serial flash chip.
So the LPSPI1 can not be used (wile it is on the Arduino expansion header!).

Can we remove U27 to be able to use the LPSPI1? It does by default boot from the QSPI Flash doesn't it? So U27 can safely be removed?

Hello
I hope you are well.

You´re correct, it can be removed as this LPSPI memory is used for recovery boot. Without it, the system will continue booting from FlexSPI.
However, to use LPSPI1 I suggest removing 0Ω resistors R200,R404,R406,R408 instead. With this, you won't need to remove U27.

Best regards,
Omar
