Hi,

we're designing an application in which we want to connect six 128Gbit SLC NAND Flash memories (Micron) to the SEMC controller of the iMX RT 1176 MCU.

The expected capacitance of the NAND Flash (BGA package) is around 4.5 pF for the data line. This means about 27 pF in total. Flash chips will be powered by 1V8 and working in SYNC mode.

I went through the iMX RT documentation but I cannot see the maximum loading capacitance in the AC characteristics of the SEMC controller. Do you have any idea what the limits are?

Thanks!

Hello
I hope you are well.
The maximum is around 20pF:

It is not recommended to connect multiple SEMC devices with total capacitance in pins for the memories above the allowed maximum. In this case, your device may only work under very low frequency.

Best regards,
Omar

I didn't realize that GPIO_EMC_Bx is for SEMC; now it makes sense.

I'll use a discrete buffer to drive those Flash memories. Many thanks!
