MIMXRT1160 USB PHYs Power Supply

Hi,

As per the datasheet of IMXRT1160, power for USB OTG PHYs can be supplied from VDD_USB_1P8 at 1V8 or VDD_USB_3P3 at 3V3.
However, the "Recommended connections for unused analog interfaces" (Table 6), prescribes that VDD_USB_1P8 and VDD_USB_3P3 both be supplied at their nominal supply voltages.
Which one is correct? Do we require to power both domains? If so, what will be the current drawn from these pins?
Will both pins consume? or there is any option to use one of the pins although both remains connected to respective supplies?

Besides, can anyone suggest me a schematic, if the USB is only required to work in device mode? Do we still require USB OTG PHYs to be supplied?

1. Is there any power sequencing requirement between VDD_USB_1P8 and VDD_USB_3P3 ?

From the MIMXRT1160-EVK it seems that 1P8 can be supplied anytime.

2. A similar case is also there for VDDA_ADC_1P8 and VDDA_ADC_3P3. Is there any sequencing requirement? Do they both must be supplied for ADC operation?

3. If both VDDA_ADC_1P8 and VDDA_ADC_3P3 are required, then what is the maximum ADC pin input voltage? 3V3 or 1V8?

Hi @Dee_m ,

1. Is there any power sequencing requirement between VDD_USB_1P8 and VDD_USB_3P3 ?

No, there isn't.

2.  A similar case is also there for VDDA_ADC_1P8 and VDDA_ADC_3P3. Is there any sequencing requirement? Do they both must be supplied for ADC operation?

No

3. If both VDDA_ADC_1P8 and VDDA_ADC_3P3 are required, then what is the maximum ADC pin input voltage? 3V3 or 1V8?

Please refer to the datasheet.

Hi @Dee_m ,

Both are correct. VDD_USB_1P8 and VDD_USB_3P3 must be powered simultaneously, not 'or'.  It can't select by software.

Host and device are same power supply.
