Can the FLEXSPI Driver API Perform a SPI Transfer without the LUT ?

This question may have been somewhat answered, but I want to ask if the FLEXSPI driver API can or cannot do a SPI transfer without using the LUT ?  If it can do a transfer without using the LUT, is there any example code for that ?
