Access a Custom RT1170 Board over JTAG/SWD

Hello,

I am using a custom board based on RT1176,

After powering the board up I was able to access serial interface (UART) and I was able to communicate with the chip, read and write data to internal RAM.

The problem is that I can't access SWD interface using MCU-Link-Pro, when I connect MCU-Link-Pro I receive error that states nothing is detected on the bus!

I checked the connection it is corerct (SWDIO, SWDCLK, GND), when I start the debugging process the debugger send the sequence to change from JTAG to SWD correctly, what could be the issue?

Hi @abady1000 ,

Thanks for your interest in NXP MIMXRT series!

Can you have a try with this operation? It will erase your flash in SDP mode.

It seems that this user is experiencing the same issue as you.

Hi @abady1000 ,

Generally this issue occurs due to an error in the code running in flash. Completely brand new boards and flash should be less likely to have problems, but anyway congratulations on solving the problem and you can start enjoying the development journey!

Best regards,
Gavin
