tinyalsa_hal how to mute or drop audio for a device?

I'm using tinyalsa_hal to manage audio.

I have an android device connected through USB and another device also connected through usb.

When the other device has any input or output, I want to mute/drop the audio from the Android device.

Could someone point me in the correct direction on how to do this?
