swapped columns in image aquired over CSI

Above image (extract, 8bit b/w) of a barcode has been aquired over CSI as part of a video stream on a phyflex-i.MX6 board.

All columns are swapped pair-wise.

Normally the barcode would look just fine, sometimes we receive it like above.

What false setting in the IPU (caused i.e. by electromagnetic glitch) could possibly lead to such a column swapping?

Never mind, culprit is likely too high a gain setting in the camera.
