Hello all,
Our ov5640 sensor interfaced through DVP with IMX6 solo , does not captures 1080p video at 15 or 30 fps . The following link says ov5640 can capture images only at maximum rate of 7.5 fps in parallel port . is it limitation of imx6 or ov5640 ? is there any workaround to overcome this limitation ?

I'm trying to connect ov5640 over DVP and have trouble configuring this camera registers, hundreds of them. I did find a lot of examples as well as whatever available datasheet. In those examples many registers are not documented, many fields in the documented are missing and many other discrepancies. If you guys have it working, would you mind to share your camera registers configurations?
Thanks in advance
ela,
I am using IMX6 Quad Sabre kit and its same thing for DVP port too. So I think it is not related to Solo or Dual or Quad. It could be related to DVP limitation of sensor OV5640. But MIPI interface support 1080p @ 30fps. However I tried to record videos in different resolutions VGA and HD, all seem like same, not quality difference. I doubt whether its really capturing video at 1080p @ 30fps or not?
I have i.MX6Q SABRE SDB, & OV5640 camera. I have use fsl-image-qt5-x11-imx6qdlsolo.sdcard & now board is running. How can I install OpenCV in this? How can I connect board to internet for downloading package ? How can I capture video & start camera ? Please, Help ?
Yes, it can capture at 1080p@30fps , the driver has the spec: "drivers/media/video/mxc/capture/ov5640_mipi.c"
As Sam said, it could be related to DVP limitation, I have not tried it yet though.
