not able to boot custom imx6ull board using eMMC

Hi,

I have created custom u-boot using DCD changes, custom kernel [zImage] with changes for UTP and USB_MASS_STORAGE in defconfig. Able to build the yocto images with customized u-boot, zImage and DTB. Able to flash via serial downloader using mfgtool2. I see all the output such as u-boot and kernel logs correctly on debug uart, But i am not able to get the board booted via eMMC after flashing. I do not see anything on serial. Can anyone faced the same issue.

b45499‌ - Can you please help ! Added logs after flashing. Also DDR calibration is done for my KINGSTON DDR3L - 4G using DDR stress tester tool. I do not know why it still does not boot from eMMC. I see all the partitions created successfully.

Is this some problem with boot partition

in u-boot ./include/configs/mx6ullevk.h, CONFIG_SYS_MMC_ENV_PART = 0, is this problem due to it.

Any help is highly appreciated  !

Hi Pankaj

was ddr memory of custom board tested by ddr stress tool

i.MX6/7 DDR Stress Test Tool V2.80

New images should be rebuilt with new calibration settings forund from ddr test

(put them in uboot/../mx6ullevk/imximage.cfg).

Best regards
igor

Hi Igor,

I have used the DDR stress test only with relevant changes in NXP aid script. Below is the calibration result i had

MMDC registers updated from calibration

Write leveling calibration
MMDC_MPWLDECTRL0 ch0 (0x021b080c) = 0x00000000
MMDC_MPWLDECTRL1 ch0 (0x021b0810) = 0x000A000A

Read DQS Gating calibration
MPDGCTRL0 PHY0 (0x021b083c) = 0x41580154
MPDGCTRL1 PHY0 (0x021b0840) = 0x00000000

Read calibration
MPRDDLCTL PHY0 (0x021b0848) = 0x40402E32

Write calibration
MPWRDLCTL PHY0 (0x021b0850) = 0x40403C38

I changed according to above calibration coefficient.

Please find the flashing logs coming in the debug uart [logsfromflashing.txt]. I see the uboot and kernel and rootfs loaded correctly. I see the partitioning of the eMMC as well. Can there be a problem of boot partition not enabled? Also the imx6ull inc file used for stress testing is attached [imxull.inc]. I used the "mfgtool2-yocto-mx-evk-emmc.vbs" file present in  mfgtool2. From flash logs present in logsfromflashing.txt, it looks everything went well. But not still sure why it did not flash from eMMC on reboot.

If you still suggest, i can run through the DDR stress tester again.

Please help as i am struck in the last step of the complete exercise.

Hi Pankaj

could you clarify what do you mean by:

" But not still sure why it did not flash from eMMC on reboot. "

So described problem relates to mfg tool programming ?

My bad, i meant to say, it is flashing properly via mfgtool2. I see correct logs as well. However it does not boot from eMMC.

so is there any boot log from eMMC ?

If not any log, connect jtag and check boot configuration reading SRC_SBMR1,2

registers, check emmc signals with oscilloscope during boot.

Hi Igor,

Can you please have a look on my boot logs.
