mic takes input from the ear pads/cushion in the headset not from the mic piece

Hi Everyone,

I am facing a problem in recording from a headset mic on my imx8 m mini custom board. I am using wm8962 audio codec. The mic is taking input from the ear pads/cushion and not from the mic piece of the headset. I have a single audio jack in my hardware. Is this a problem. Or what could be causing the issue.

Kindly help in finding a solution.
