seems this is possible using resource partitioning through SCU and XRDC infrastructure.
For example almost every module description of i.MX8QXP Reference Manual has reference:
"Each of the peripherals, and local peripheral clock controls, and each
of the DMA channels can be uniquely assigned to different resource domains, security
domains, and virtual machines (VMs).
NOTE
The XRDC2 itself is only accessed by the System Controller via the DSC."
