Hi All,

We are make imx8mp evk based product.

Kernel : 6.6.36

Currently we are experiencing every strange issue. If I allow sound driver to load automatically my unit GUI doesn't appear. So I blacklisted sound drivers. Following are the blacklisted sound drivers.

blacklist snd-soc-fsl-xcvr
blacklist snd_soc_fsl_micfil
blacklist snd-soc-fsl-aud2htx
blacklist snd-soc-imx-card
blacklist snd-soc-imx-hdmi
blacklist snd-soc-fsl-asoc-card
blacklist snd-soc-fsl-sai

But I know when this drivers loading they are also installing "imx-pcm-dma.ko" drivers. Which is fine but as soon as I installed module dependent on this imx-pcm-dma module (example modprobe snd-soc-fsl-sai) my unit GUI disappears. I am attaching video (GUI_disappears.mp4)for reference.

Is there any resource crunch between imx-pcm-dma drivers and Graphics drivers?

The problem is that when this issue occurs I can't see any errors from kernel. Is there anyway to debug this. Please suggest as this bottleneck for our product. Currently we are running GUI at the cost of audio, for product that is not acceptable. Please provide your suggestions. Let us know if anything is missing from our end.  Any help or suggestion for this blocker issue would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jemish

Hi Aldo,

Thanks for your response. Thanks for you counter questions. That triggers me to do some additional test on my unit. It's fixed now.

It was pinmux issue from our end. I apologize for escalation on this issue. It was our mistake.

We can close this issue now.

Thanks,

Jemish

Hello,

Does after uninstalling the sound drivers make the display come back again?
Which interface is the display using HDMI/DSI/LVDS?
Also, aside from errors you see any kernel message regarding display?

Best regards/Saludos,
Aldo.
