imx8mp can1_tx measuring

Hi,

We have developed our own imx8mp board, but it no "CAN transceiver (ex.TJA1048T)" is connected.

Can can1_tx  signal (waveform) be measured without connecting CAN transceiver?

I try disble imx8mp-evk Dual CAN FD(TJA1048T)-> STB2 ,  I use cansend command  to can2 signal   , but CAN2_TX signal  cannot  measured

Why TJA1048T STB2 signal  can effect CAN2_TX?  Or the driver disables CAN2_TX?

Hi @Lex_tracy,

Since there is no CAN transceiver on board, disabling Standby pin will have no effect.

Tranceiver shall be present to measure the TX signal.

Thanks for the return, I still have some questions about imx8mp-evk.

The imx8mp-evk CAN transceiver can only be used with TJA1048T?

Can it be used with different CAN transceivers?

Hi @Lex_tracy,

CAN transceivers that support the processor requirements can be used with iMX8MP.

One can refer to Section 3.8.7 CAN network AC electrical specifications of IMX8MPCEC document and Section 11.8 FlexCAN of IMX8MPRM document from the below-mentioned link:

Since the CAN transceiver is not present on the board, the CAN1_TX signal cannot be measured.
