I am trying to collect trace data by imx8mm ETM and perf. A critical issue I hit recently was the trace overflow if many functions are traced. One example is like perf record -e cs_etm/timestamp,cycacc,@tmc_etr0/u --filter 'filter 0x9e0/0x1ec8@/home/root/myapp'. myapp is an example code that contains a series of subfunctions and loops. I restrain the trace range to userspace and my application. But overflow still occurs unless I reduce the number of functions in ETM trace. Does IMX8 have a mechanism to reduce commit rate to avoid ETM trace overflow? Thanks.
