imx8mm cannot ping dot local domains adv with avahi

I have my PC and  a R-PI on local network adv with avahi.

I also run avahi on imx8mm.

• I can ping from R-PI and from PC all others,
  PC->R-PI
  • PC->imx8
  • R-PI->pc 
  • R-PI->imx8 by name
  • pc.local, rpi.local,  imx8.local

I can ping from imx8mm google.com, yahoo.com

BUT, I cannot PING from imx8mm any local  domains  .local


ping hp.local
ping R-PI-local

avahi-browse shows:

The avahi service status is the same on all

It took a while to figure it out.

I did this change in /etc/nsswitch.conf  and all good
