imx7d mfd download when usb not otg mode

hi,

We are designing a custom board use imx7d chip.

Is the usb port must be use otg mode when I download my firmware use serial download mode? 

If the usb host mode is work well ,we would use this mode ,then the pin USB_OTG1_ID is not required.
