Hi Igor,

I rebuild the rootfs and tried the Mfg kernel, now my system waiting in uuc  app infinite "for loop"  for images from window PC but PC does not detect target as mass storage device.

So now i want to get a console so that i can write the image by myself using dd , but i have no success in getting console, I have changed "linuxrc" file and disabled uuc app.

please answer these question:

Q1- if i want to get a console now with this mfg kernel, which rootfs i should use ? with default rootfs for mfg kernel i am not able to get console, i tried to running below command from linuxrc but no success:

                 /bin/sh   ----- does not work.

busybox sh --- does not work.

/sbin/getty -L ttymxc0 115200 vt100    ---gives me a login prompt ,which is  hanging and  not working

what are the change i need to do in rootfs or kernel , so that i can get the console ?

Q2: can you please point me to a minimal  rootfs , which can work with this mfg kernel ?

Q3. i am able to build minimal core package from yocto projetc, and it has a rootfs image *.sdcard.*.ext3 etc , how can i make them in "   ***.cpio.gz.u-boot" format ?

Hi Robin

for dts changes one can look at

http://boundarydevices.com/mx6-device-tree-customization/

as for hang, this may be caused by ddr: since mfg tools firmware

should be rebuilt with new ddr settings (found from ddr test

i.MX6/7 DDR Stress Test Tool V2.30 ), refer to

attached Yocto Guide sect.6.2 The Manufacturing Tool, MFGTool

Best regards

igor

Hi Igor,

Thanks for the reply. i already run DDR stress v2.30 , i can run this test successfully  and i have also taken all DDR setting in mfg uboot DCD.

what are the component of MFG tool i need to rebuild - i have not rebuild the rootfs and using the same from freescale mfgtool for sabre device(fsl-image-mfgtool-initramfs-imx6qdlsolo.cpio.gz.u-boot )

Do i need to prepare new rootfs , too i already rebuild the mfg uboot and kernel  ????

Or will it work as i we are also using eMMC on SDHC4 (4GB)   ?

Hi Robin

one needs to change fsl-image-mfgtool-initramfs-imx6qdlsolo.cpio.gz.u-boot

with new, built using attached Yocto Guide sect.6.2 The Manufacturing Tool, MFGTool
