imx6 dual lite - new layer adding and build

Hello Support Team,

Configuration

MACHINE=imx6qdlsabresd DISTRO=fsl-imx-wayland source ./imx-setup-release.sh -b build

bitbake core-image-base

Question

After the complete image build "bitbake core-image-base"

suppose if i am going to add a new layer to activate the SSH terminal session

whether do i need to build complete image? because building the complete image will take few hours.

can you provide me some documentation with snapshots.
