I'm trying to use i2cdetect, etc. tools to read anc change registers of the SGTL5000 ( basically want to modify the gain ). Using i2cdetect, I only see a device connected to i2c1, I am assuming addresses 0x50-0x57. But I'm not sure I am reading the output correctly. Also when I do i2cdump from any of those addresses I get what looks like the same data. At some point I expect to at least see the SGTL5000 ID register contents ( 0xA0XX )...
Anyone have any pointers on how to use the tools or talk to the SGTL5000?
