Just got a MCIMX8M-EVK kit. The board pre-loaded Android 9. I installed Plex (client) apk and Kodi 19.4 apk and it kind of works. Video playback via HDMI output works with good picture and sound.
I'm hoping to have all popular audio codec/formats with HDMI output pass-through to external decoder (TV, soundbar, AV receiver etc). It should work with DD/DTS/EAC3/TrueHD/Atmos/DTS-X etc.
For video playback, it should support up to 4K HDR (HDR10) and Dolby Vision output to compatible display (TV, projector etc).
I believe the iMX8M datasheet listed support for all these audio and video formats. My question is how to test and make sure the software side works for all these audio and video formats?
