Hi,
I'm trying to understand the display capabilities of the i.MX8QM family. In the reference manual under the Display Controller Subsystem (page 5122), states that each Display Controller supports, among other features, "Two LVDS interfaces supporting...4k30 when aggregating the two interfaces".
For 4k30, which "the two interfaces" are being referred to? Does it refer to the two Display Controller interfaces, or the two LVDS interfaces per Display Controller?
Basically, is it possible to output a 4K30 signal from each Display Controller, whether it be through LVDS or DSI, or are both Display Controllers needed to produce one 4K30 output? Many SOM vendors don't mention anywhere near this capability, ususally topping out at 1080p per display.
Thanks,
-Greg
Hello,
There are two LVDS interfaces per Display Controller.and the MX8QM itself is 4K @ 30 fps, this can vary for you RAM, but thats for the chip.
regards
It looks like the HDMI output supports 4k60 with 16bpp, so it sounds like the internal memory architecture can handle that kind of memory throughput.
What I'm interested in is if each DSI or pair of LVDS interfaces per Display Controller can individually output a 4K30 signal, for a total of two individual 4K30 outputs?
