Hello,

Does i.MX6 VPU can support H.264 encode and decode at the same time?

We hope to run h.264 enc/dec by gstreamer as following.

   File H.264 720p60 -> H.264 decoder -> H.264 encoder 720p60 2Mbsp -> RTP-UDP

Device plan to use iMX6Quad (not QP).

Linux BSP Rev.          L3.10.53_1.1.0

But current our test, Frame rate of encode result  goes to 54fsp.

Do you have any check point to keep frame rate to 60fsp?

Best regards,

Ishii.

Hi Ishii

vpu perfomance described on p.7 presentation

Q&A: MX6 VPU H.264 Dual Stream Encode Limits | NXP Community

and guaranteed linux perfomance in attached Release Notes sect.

6.5.2 Video codec specifications are for 30fps. More values depend

on use case (application specific). One can try to analyze bus loading for example with

mmdc profiling tool
