iMX6 SOLO temperature throttling

Hello,

We have several unit with iMX6 SOLO processors and we see different behavior on high temperatures:

- One unit crashes with die-temperature of ~85C

- Other units continue working on this temperature but scale down  gpu3d clock

Chip revisions are the same revision, 1.3.

To be sure, we re-calibrated memory of the first unit, but the unit still crashes.

Any idea what can cause this difference?

i.MX6 processors have temperature monitor that protects the processors from overheating.
Please refer chapter 26 "Thermal Driver" of i.MX 6 Linux Reference Manual for the details.

However accuracy of temperature sensor is very poor. So I suggest to set it a bit lower for monitor to slow the processor earlier.

Also as common suggestion I can suggest to attach a radiator to the processor.
