Dear sir/madam,

We are using imx6Q custom platform which is base from imx6Q sabresd platform.  Currently we are using u-boot2008-09 boot loader for our development.

We found the below patch file to support the new cpu silicon revision.

http://git.freescale.com/git/cgit.cgi/imx/uboot-imx.git/commit/?h=imx_v2009.08_3.0.35_4.1.0&id=a9298...

We would like to know,

1) Why this patch is not required in DCD header?

(In plugin mode, we have tried to boot without applying this patch and it is not successful.   But in DCD mode, without this patch we are able to boot.)

2) What is the difference between plugin mode and DCD mode?

Regards,

Ansari

Hi Abdul

1. In plugin-mode it is necessary to provide return address to iROM, as plug-in image

returns to iROM and processor continues iROM boot flow. Return address may be

different for different revisions, check Engineering Bulletin EB804.

>2) What is the difference between plugin mode and DCD mode?

It is described in sect.8.7 "Plugin Image" i.MX6DQ Reference Manual (rev.3  7/2015)

Best regards

igor
