iMX53 Mfg Tool issues on Windows 7

We are using the Freescale Mfg Tool to program NAND on an iMX53 based platform.

We are seeing a number of issue when running on a Windows 7 PC.

Specifically the tool sees the connected device but nothing happens when ‘Start’ is clicked.

A second issue is that the Mfg mode kernel gets deployed onto the platform and then when it starts to program NAND it looks like the internal USB hub on the PC gets screwed up – the mouse and keyboard on the PC  stop working.

These are happening quite frequently on this platform.

Mfg Tool revision is 1.6.2.048

We have run it successfully on other Windows 7 PCs (as well as XP and Vista) so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the issues. As far as I know it is supported on Windows 7 but are there any known issues when running on this platform or other platform-related requirements/limitations?

Thanks,

Bruno

Hi Bruno

if Windows 7 is 64 bit version or there is USB 3.0 on PC, there may

be issues. For USB 3.0 one can try to disable it.

Also it is recommended to install all Microsoft OS updates.

Best regards
