Hi Terry,
Have you checked the image options of your projector? Some projectors as well as TVs have the option of adjust the image size/aspect ratio, for example 4x3, 16x9, stretched, full, and some times, part of the image is outside of the screen area, so, it is required to manually change the image option for fitting the screen (and it is independent of the resolution).
