Hello,
I've followed the directions at https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors-Knowledge-Base/How-to-reduce-the-CPU-Frequency-on-iMX8M... for enabling additional scaling frequencies for both i.MX8MN and i.MX8MP.
Everything seems to work perfectly fine and it works like a charm (I've tried different governor policies and I obtain exactly what I was expecting to).
So, the question is: why NXP did not enable *by default* such frequencies in their BSP? I mean: they lead to better power consumption and thermal figures... probably they cost a little in terms of performances... but pros seem much more than cons...
Or is there something else I should consider? Is the mechanism guaranteed to be robust enough, or it introduces some system fragilities and so its adoption in production should be deeply evaluated?
Hi @morix ,
In our default BSP supply the general frequency, for the lower frequency do not add. If customer need you can add it yourself, yes, you can refer to the thread wirte by our engineer.

Wish you have a nice day
