#i.mx8mq usb2.0

The IMX8MDQLQCEC Data Sheet describes the USB_OTG1_CHD_B signal but I can't find it anywhere else.

I am looking at implementing USB 2.0 BC 1.2 and hoped that that function was still present.

I suspect that it was left over from the i.MX6 datasheet.....

Does anyone have info about BC detect in the i.MX8?

The Battery Charger detector output is not available on i.MX8M. The reference to the signal is an error in the data sheet.

Hence, systems should boot with minimal power consumption (less than 100 mA @ 5V) and then use software to check for battery charger or high-power (500 mA) host.

One may also consider using the Power Delivery and USB-C specifications to allow for even higher load current. This requires external components though.

Regards,

Richard
