Hello NXP,

Wifi driver used in i.MX8 Mini EVKB image (moal kernel module) creates 3 interfaces: mlan0, uap0, p2p0.

What is an usage for uap0, p2p0? What they are for?

Best regards,
Michał Oleszczyk

Hi @michal_oleszczyk

uap0 is a Wi-Fi Access Point, using open-source software Hostapd in Embedded Linux. Connection to Wi-Fi is provided by an access point (AP), that acts as a hub for one or more stations. For example, you can utilize NXP Platform and its respective Wifi Module to set up an AP.

p2p0 is the interface for WIFI DIRECT, which is a wireless standard that allows devices to connect with each other without requiring a wireless access point.

Best regards

Harvey

Hello @Harvey021

Can you provide instructions on how to configure i.MX8 Mini EVKB as a WiFi Access Point and AP-sta mode?
We have only been able to configure as client mode so far.

Best regards,
Michał O.
