i.MX6S sound to I2S without codec

Hi all,

we are working on a custom board with i.MX6S processor and Linux 3.0.10 (LTIB). The custom board should play sounds, i.e. forward sound data to I2S WITHOUT a physical CODEC.

We have read it would be possible to use a dummy driver but we couldn't find further details about it.

Did someone try something like that? Any suggestion, guide, hint?

I am not aware of availability of such drivers, but seems

one can write it using attached Porting Guide Chapter 8

Porting Audio Codecs.
