Hi community,

I have a question about i.MX6DQ.

In fact, our customer mistook the voltage for i.MX6D HDMI_VP, their design input 1.35V.

I understand NXP cannot guarantee the chip if customer use it with out of "operating ranges" (Table 6 in IMX6DQCEC Rev.4), and chip might be damaged or life time will be short generally.

Then, in this case (when supply higher voltage than operating range to HDMI_VP), do you have information how i.MX6DQ behave concretely?

(e.g. HDMI screen image will be jumbled since video packetizer does not work well, current consumption will be increased from the value written in the datasheet, etc...)

Best Regards,

Satoshi Shimoda

Hi Satoshi

In general such small increase 4% will not affect its functionality.

>do you have information how i.MX6DQ behave concretely

not, sorry

Hi Igor,

Thank you for your Igor.

In fact, our customer found that max HDMI_VP supply voltage in their design is 1.40V, not 1.35V.

So they want to know whether i.MX6D is damaged or not by 1.40V power supply to HDMI_VP since no absolute maximum rating is defined for HDMI_VP.

(e.g. i.MX6 is not damaged since its robustness)

Of cource, our customer understand they should use i.MX6 with their responsibility if input 1.40V to HDMI_VP.

Hi Satoshi

in general 10% increase should not be harmful,

so I believe 1.40V will not damage chip too.

Note this is not official answer, if you require official formal answer

or document please escalate this request through local fae channel so

additional chip characteriziation was provided.

Best regards

igor
