Hi,
Is there any application note regarding the ARM trace connection on i.MX6 series for connecting DSTREAM or Lauterbach PowerTrace? None of the demo boards (SABRESDB, SABREAI) count with trace connection, they have only JTAG connector. Does the trace even work on i.MX6? According to the i.MX datasheet the trace signals are available as an alternate function on some pins and the frequency can be up to 600MHz so I assume that there must be some design recommendation.
Thanks,
Vladislav
As for PCB design, You may use recommendations from section 9.4 (PCB guidelines) of “RealView ICE and Trace User Guide”.

Hi Vladislav,
yes trace it of course possible. There are two ways. You can use Embedded Trace Buffer (16kB) and access it via JTAG. Or you can use Trace port interface and up to 16 bits trace lines (pins alt function in IOMUX). So you can use Lauterbach of DSTREAM for trace to their bigger buffers.
