Hello,
I've read in other community posts that the i.MX6 H.264 VPU encoder peaks at 72Mpix/s, and the decoder at about 99Mpix/s.
My question is: are those shared somehow? can I encode and decode simultaneously at those rates, or does encoder utilization hinder decode performance, and viceversa?
Kind regards,
Emilio.

Hi Emilio
you are right: encoder utilization hinder decode performance.
Mentioned figures are standalone (only decoding or only encoding) performance.

Thanks Igor,
As you can imagine, I'm considering using the i.MX6 for H.264 multistream processing. Where can I find specific metrics or benchmarks in this regard?
I've been googling around for both VPU-based and software-based H.264 performance numbers, but didn't find anythig conclusive.
Thanks for your support,
Emilio.
Hi Emilio
one can look at presentation below
