i.MX6 based design for Point of sale application

Hi,

We are using i.MX6 in one of our designs for Point of Sale application. We have gone through the i.MX based design for POS with i.MX27 where no separate secure device is used. We are concerned with the PCI PED entry for the secured pin IDs.

Can i.MX6 be used for the pin encryption for authorization?

Also we would like to know whether the EMV certifications for payments can also be incorporated in the design without using a separate secure device on the board?

The i.MX6 series processors don't have an integrated Smart Card interface

module, so, an external one should be used to provide the interface to Smart

Card devices.

The i.MX6 series processors have not passed any EMV certification.

Have a great day,
Artur
