Hi Community,
I am a little confused about the video encoding/decoding capabilities of i.MX6.
The VPU section in the reference manuals of Quad and DualLite say that both can de- and encode H.264 up to 1080p@30fps.
But the parametric list (i.MX6Q|i.MX 6Quad Processors|Quad Core|NXP) says that Quad is able to decode 1860p@60fps.
Which one is correct?
Can someone tell me, what happens if I try to decode a 1080p@60fps H.264 video using i.MX6DL?
Is there a way to reduce framerate before decoding (or to skip every 2nd frame)?
Best regards
Martin

Hi Martin
please refer to sect.6.5.2 Video codec specifications attached Release Notes
for video perfomance provided in nxp linux bsps described on
i.MX 6 / i.MX 7 Series Software and Development Tool|NXP
Depending on board configuration, use case, buses loading, e.t.c., fps may be better.
For frame skipping one can refer to sect.4.3.3.2 Frame Skipping Option i.MX
VPU Programming Linux Manual.
Best regards
