i.MX6: RGB to YUV420 color space conversion

Hi,

I want to convert RGB data to YUV 4:2:0 data in the i.MX6 to use it in the VPU.

I know that the IPU IC can convert from RGB to YUV 4:4:4. But I can't find a possibility to compress YUV 4:4:4 to YUV 4:2:0 by HW.

Is there any other possibility that I have not found or is it necessary to do the conversion in SW?
