Hi, communty,

A customer has some questions about i.MX6SDL EIM.

[Q1]

Please see the description of DSZ field in chapter 22.9.1 of IMX6SDLRM Rev.1.

It says "NOTE: Only async. access supported for 8 bit port.".

Customer is confused this expression.

Which is correct?

1. Async access can use only 8 bit port. (cannot use 16 bit port & 32 bit port)

2. Only async access can use 8 bit port. (sync access cannot use 8 bit port)

I guess 2. is correct, right?

Please see chapter 22.5.3.

It says "All modes are supported in with 8-, 16- or 32-bit port configuration, according to DSZ bit field".

But 8 bit port configuration is limited according to DSZ bit field.

Is this right?

Briefly :

1.
Correct, only async access can use 8 bit port (sync access cannot use 8 bit port).

2.
This is inaccuracy in Chapter 22.5.3, really "8 bit port configuration is limited" and
"sync access cannot use 8 bit port".
