Hi all

My customer want to input RGB888 format in i.MX537.

But we can't find a timing chart to input RGB888 format.

So we can't figure out the input timing.

Is there any document for detail description ?

Hi ko-hey

timings are described in Table 59. Camera Input Signal Cross Reference, Format and Bits Per Cycle

Table 60. Sensor Interface Timing Characteristics IMX53CEC

Best regards

Hi Igor

Thanks, but the table is not my Wish.

We want to understand the interface specification when we use RGB888 format.

Of course, I know that RGB is inputted to the order.

Will there a specification between each color of the input ?

(For example, we have to add one clock interval, etc.)

Also we want to know a pixel clock input.

Does user need to enter a pixel clock at three times when they use RGB888 format ?

According to the RM, RGB888 needs 3 cycles per 1 pixel in parallel I/F.

So I have to input a pixel clock at three times.

Is it correct ?

Hi ko-hey

>Will there a specification between each color of the input ?

Table 59 shows R - first cycle, then G, then B

>Does user need to enter a pixel clock at three times when they use RGB888 format

yes, also Table 60 should be satisfied

>So I have to input a pixel clock at three times.

yes

Hi Igor

I understand about pixel clock.

How about Vsync and Hsync ?

According to Figure 45-17 of RM, Vsync and Hsync width is as same as Data width.

Does user need to change Vsync and Hsync width ?

Addition for above, is there any restriction between Vsync and Hsync ?

Hi ko-hey

Vsync and Hsync are the same as in non-RGB888 formats,

check Sensor Interface Timing Characteristics in datasheet.
