Using the Synaptic manager I answered yes on the question if I wanted to update a bunch of packages.
Nothing strange or unusual about that, but here comes the problem. During the update the disk became full.

Now I can login anymore. After login the screen goes black for a while and then I'm back at login. Aparently

some vital file has been left in a intermediate state.

Any tips on how to restore my system to a usable state again?

It us a almost new board so there is no problem if all my data is lost

during such a restore. Have just been playing around a little with it.
