i.MX28 using old LTIB build system

Hello,

Customer is using an i.MX28 with the old LTIB build system and MfgTool used in production.  My understanding is that the file “updater_ivt.sb” is initially used as the update firmware to program the chip.  Customer tried the latest update file for the MfgTool, apparently that does not support the i.MX28 either.  He needs to change the chip definitions in “drivers/mtd/nand/nand_ids.c” and “drivers/mtd/nand/nand_device_info.c”, then generate a new kernel, that’s clear.  He also needs to generate a new updater file for use with the MfgTool, which he's am not clear on how to accomplish this.

Also, will the i.MX28 support NAND ECC of 8-bits?

Thanks, in advance

Scott

LTIB is no longer supported. You could use Yocto or Buildroot instead.

There is also this tool that allows loading code to mx28 via USB: http://git.denx.de/?p=mxsldr.git;a=summary
