Hi,
I have a question regarding the i.MX 8M Plus and the VPU (Video Decoding).
Is it possible to connect the i.MX 8M Plus to a display with following specs:
Resolution: 2700*350
FPS: 60 FPS
Interface: 4 lanes MIPI-DSI
The video encoding format that will used is h.264.
According the specification, the 8M Plus VPU allows a max resolution of "1080p60" / 1920x1080@60FPS. Is it possible to use the VPU (Video Decoding) with a display with a wider but flatter resolution (2700x350)?
Thanks!
Regards,
Simon
Hi Igor,
thanks for the fast reply!
What changes are neccessary to make the display work?
Is a change in the VPU or MIPI kernel driver needed or can all changes be done in the device tree configuration?
Regards,
Simon
Hi Simon

please create new thread as this is new question.
For new LCD there is no need for vpu changes.
