On my Linux embedded system, based on imx6q, I built a custom BSP with Yocto Project 2.1.1 (Krogoth).

Linux version: 4.1.15-1.2.0

 

While we're using gplay-1.0 to see movies, the system often goes in "kernel panic". In attachment you can find what we see.

 

Other times, we see:

according to attached Release Notes p.32 official nxp L4.1.15-1.2.0

supports gstreamer version 1.6.0 and can be found on i.MX product page

i.MX 6 Series Software and Development Tool|NXP 

One can try gplay using attached Linux Guide sect.7.3 Multimedia use cases
