format of SD card for flashing Android OS

which Format is recommended for SD card before creating partition and flashing Android OS. because in pdf its mention SD card should be unmount before flashing . So can you suggest me ,Should i format in FAT32 or NTFS format.

Actually it is never mind how the card is formatted. The format will be lost after re-partitioning of the card.
