disabling gui application on start up on imx6

Is there any way to disable the gui application on start up on the imx6? if so, what are the steps?

I'm running the freescale yocto project image (Linux-4.1.15-6QP+gf295a56).

do you mean splashscreen, then one can check defines 

CONFIG_SPLASH_SCREEN in uboot/include/configs folder

uboot-imx.git - Freescale i.MX u-boot Tree
